Meet the Interns

At Invisible Stripes, we're all about the grind.

This is Glenn, one of the interns. We have them do just about anything and everything.

Here he is walking Charlie.

NO BITCH ASS NESS.

GOOD JOB GLENN.

This is Dale. He mistakenly fell into his position of being an intern. One day he came by and asked us if he could shadow us for a school project.... That one day was months ago. Hes been trapped here ever since.

This is James. The most interesting one. I now refer to him as Mr. DUI. Originally from San Diego, up here attending school at San Francisco State.

Other interns that weren't able to show face:
Tommy, Jonna, JP, Dominic, and Kim...

Thanks to all you guys.

Art Part 2

I was fucking mad when I only got one hour in of tattooin' and I think this is why...so Chris and I booked our flights to LA at 6:30am back and forth so we had to wake you at 4:30 to be at the airport by 5:30. We got like zero sleep for two nights and I booked my 3 hour session that same day we got back. I'm not going to lie, right when I sat in the chair the needle seemed way worst then any other time and blood just kept on coming out. After a half hour I was like "yo Jeff my shit is bleeding hella and it don't feel right" and he said back "but you are getting tattoo'd." In my head I was like "damn." He checked the needle and said it's barely out. I was like sweatin', trippin' and bleedin'. So I told him about my LA trip and he thinks it cuz of lack of sleep. It wasn't cool beans so we had to stop.

This is all I got done...boo

Boiling Crab

After a long day of sourcing fabric and handling production we headed to Boiling Crab for a big ass feast.
Boiling Crab is located in some city in So Cal, not sure if it was Santa Ana, Irvine or whatever. But it was one of the big things on our to do list for our trip down to L.A.
I've only been here twice and every time I went it was mad packed with people. A bunch of flat panel tvs playing sports, good food, good music, and great service.
6 raw oysters to start off.
3 pounds of craw fish, 2 pounds of king crab, 2 pounds of shrimp, 12 sausages, and 3 corn on the cob.
This place is dope. You sit down, they roll a fat ass wax paper over the table, no plates, no bowls, not any utensils, they give you a fat paper towel roll on your table and a bib.

Before and after pics of this massacre. Don't get it twisted, this meal was for three of us. I'm the one taking the pictures.

It cost us $82.07

Soul Sector x BLANK?

The guy lighting his cigarette... thats our boy George. He lives across the street from Invisible Stripes.

He recently got scouted by Soul Sector.

Core Members: BIONIC, MIKEY DISKO, NAYTRON, JARDY, PHARSIDE. SUNNY D-LOCK

Also: Cricket, Shachon-Conway, Crix, Sia, Tony Styles, JSmooth, Lee Lee, MaydenChina, Chang

Soulsector is a family based, all-styles, all-star collaborative whose focus is in house, popping, bboying, rocking, hip hop, and locking. Originating in San Francisco and New York, their talents were developed through the club scene and battle circuit.

Soulsector consists of seven core members: Bionic, one of the biggest popping icons of our generation; Pharside, who is currently popping’s fiercest competitors; Naytron, one of the top innovative and recognized young bboys in the US; Jardy and MikeyDisko, who are hiphop and house protoges of Cricket, a legendary New York house dance monster.

Collectively, Soulsector’s skills have enabled them to perform, battle, judge competitions, and teach across the US, Denmark, France, England, Canada, Holland, Germany and Japan in 2004-07 alone. The members have appeared on dance shows such as “Soul Train” and various music videos. Soulsector’s motivation is to study the history and foundation of each hip hop dance form and implement it in the evolution of their individual style, learning directly from the dancers who have founded and revolutionized these genres of urban dance.

Soul Sector recently got casted to do BLANK... which will begin to shoot in early June. I'll repost once I find out more details but as of now... Soul Sector will be one of the only groups reppin' Nor Cal.

Here's one of the many clips you could find. enjoy.

HOLY SHIT

So my brother called me today. Tells me that our cousin's dorm in San diego State got raided by police and my cousin was arrested this morning. They found 2 pounds of marijuana, ecstasy pills, and about $4,000 in cash. I'm like, naw your fucking with me. He tells me to check out the news. It wasn't only him he said, a bunch of students got arrested along with him. I searched the web and this is what I found.

You have to watch past the quick Ford ad to see video.

Art

It took me a bit to think about what to get on my next sleeve then one night Chris and I were doing work at our boys gemvsgem spot designing the new season. I saw one of his paintings he did called "lolo" which is tagolog for grandpa. The meaning about his artwork is growth and looking out for the younger generations to come. And this was it...my sleeve.
I took the picture to Jeff at Idle Hand. This is the first time I got tattooed by Jeff but I seen his work before so I know he would flip this out. It took him a week to sketch it out and this is what he came up with.

So after 3 and a half hours later which equals $500 the out line is done. People say that tattoos are addicting and I agree, its just something about it. But if you are deciding to get one my advice is go BIG.

I already booked my next session and I'm gonna blast it with color.

Yee!
